On June 19, we held our 2016/2017 Report to the Community – Annual General Meeting and celebrated all we accomplished this year, and the volunteers, donors, partners, board members and staff that made it possible. During the meeting, guests were treated to the premiere of BBBS Calgary’s first Video Annual Report which highlighted the ‘BIG’ things we have done in a new and exciting format.
At the event we welcomed new board members, George Androulidakis and Steve Williams, who both bring years of experience and knowledge to BBBS. Past President, David Pickersgill, lead a warm farewell to Adrian Lomas, a Canadian Progress Club – Downtown member, who has volunteered on our Board of Directors for eight years. A ‘BIG’ thank you to Adrian for his dedication and tireless support for BBBS Calgary and Area and the mentoring movement.
The highlight of the event was the keynote address from Jamie Klein, a former BBBS Calgary ‘Little’, who shared her powerful and inspirational story of overcoming hardships through the power of mentoring. Jamie’s story is a reminder of the transformative power of mentoring and that by investing in young people today we lay the foundations for the communities and leaders of tomorrow. Thank you Jamie!
Lastly, a ‘BIG’ thank you to the staff and volunteers who organized and planned this year’s Annual General Meeting.
