Introducing, Gurpreet Lail, Our New President & CEO

The Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the selection of Gurpreet Lail as the new President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area.

Gurpreet has several years of experience in the not-for-profit sector as both a leader and advisor with a particular expertise in government relations, fund development and public relations. She held the role of Executive Director at Shock Trauma Air Rescue (STARS) in Calgary from 2010-2018, leading a team of 40 within the areas of major gifts, annual giving, events, stewardship, research and data, and worked to develop an optimal program for over 400 STARS volunteers.

Gurpreet is also a principal at Lail Consulting where she has supported various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the areas of strategic planning, coaching and mentorship, creating innovative workplace cultures, and the implementation of sponsorship programs. She has also held leadership roles at the Manning Centre and the Fraser Institute.

She will be a leader committed to nurturing long standing relationships, building new partnerships in government and community, and clearing the way for BBBS to successfully implement our mandate to help all young people realize their full potential.”

Together, we will continue to move BBBS to new heights and grow our impact through the power of mentoring.”

Gurpreet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta. Her first day as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area’s new President & CEO will be January 6th.
