Addy & Emma
Matched April 2016 in Calgary, AB
“I would say that my favourite part is having our relationship grow into what I’m sure will be a long lasting friendship. I can’t wait to keep watching Emma go after life with a big smile, a lot of sass and a twinkle of mischief in her eyes.”
– Big Sister Addy
“I’m just so glad that we are a good match and that we get along really well. I’m also thankful for tickets to different games, concerts, and the zoo that we’ve been lucky to go to!”
– Little Sister Emma
Scott, Community Mentor
First Matched 2016 in Calgary, AB
“I struggled a lot growing up as a gay man in a small northern community in Alberta. I was closeted for my teen years and up until the age of 22. At that point I was living in Red Deer attending Red Deer College, I was lucky enough to have several positive mentors in my life and without their support and encouragement I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wanted to find a meaningful way to give back and help a young person who may be struggling and facing adversity in their life, a college instructor suggested Big Brothers Big Sisters and I have been a volunteer ever since. My favorite part of mentoring is seeing a young person try new things and discover what their passions in life are. “
– Big Brother Scott
